Reeder Custom Guns - Short barrel shotgun question

Is there short barrel semiautomatic 12 or 20 gauge pistol grip shotgun?

in semi-auto form. I have no experience with them. Most desire a pump action for reliability but the last 20-30 years have really advanced semi-auto shotgun design for the positive.

I took an old 20 ga. Mossberg and whacked the barrel to 18" and installed a Hogue pistol grip. It was quite successful and made something more to my use.

once it gets loose and slapping around under recoil you will start to break things. Tons of Browning and Remington semi-auto shotguns have split forends simply because the retaining nut got loose and it was repeatedly fired. A buttstock will split too. Savage made a semi that was notorious for it, the 720, I dare you to find one without at least a hairline crack in the stock. The long recoil Browning action kicked like a beast. Ditto the savage 99.

The Mossberg 590 is a good one. The Mossberg Shokwave is the one I like and bought. Remington made one but I just don't trust Remington, period.

I have a Mossberg 12 gauge boat gun in stainless steel that has a folding stock and has been on my sailboat for years until i sold the boat. still have the Mossberg 500 boat gun though. I added a laser and extended shot holder and put a sling and barrel shield on it.
