You'd think someone would make a side folding

version of the nice wood stock on the old saddlegun designs. Not tactical but just a wood stock that folds to the side so a 16" barrel M92 or 94 could fit in a duffel or pack. For years I've pined for a large head, thumb knurled screw to replace the factory screw on a Winchester or Marlins. That one screw taken out and the stock just slides off, pow. That might even be better than folding for small storage. My thinking. I'd prefer that to a complex folding system. It instantly makes the package 13" shorter.

But in large the short AR has replaced such whimsical notions.
