I ran across an unusual headstamp. I've not seen this one before though I imagine there are or were probably quite a few around.

I remember Sears branded ammo from the early 70's

Of course they had the J.C. Higgins line of sporting goods. Named after a life long employee immigrant John Higgins (BTW who had no C middle name at all). Later the Ted Williams line replaced it.
I know they had shotgun shells with their name on 'em...

and I think .22's also. And of course rifles, pistols and shotguns.
I'd guess sometime mid-20th Century.

I've 'got a thing' for old headstamps. At one time I had practically a full box of just various CBC 38 special cases, each with a slightly different headstamp. Sure wish I had a picture of those. They ranged from Berdan primers and balloon head brass to modern solid web with standard small pistol primer pockets. Don't have as many variations of the 30-30 for some reason. :-D
