Little nature walk today. Benj, with mom in tow.

Benj wanted to try his pack on his first big outing, he learned so much more than any other method. lol I learned my Sherpa slip on holster rubs my hip, even with the featherweight Taurus TX22. We have some real woolly wooded property that has been in the family since the mid 1960's. A railroad used to bisect the property in the early 1900's and ran until the late 1930's. The trestle is still a valid landmark on the property. About 25' deep along the ridge and then the same tall as the topography drops. We walked to the creek too. Lots of deer sign, rubs, we heard a Coyote yowl and saw a flock of turkey about two dozen with a duzy of a bearded Tom, it looked a foot long! I got a couple shots of the stragglers with my cell phone. Flushed a couple cottontails too. We spent a couple hours tromping through the thick. There is also a old falling down house that was built probably in the 1920's. It could have been saved in the 60's.

The trestle levy rising as the land descends. They dug out with a steam shovel then used the refuse to make a levy farther on. I have photos of construction in a book. Oxen were used to pull the wagons.
