one success, and it was a WMR cylinder fitting a preexisting LR. They were all old models, so perhaps more consistancy in newer, but the only new model ever owned was a convertible, so I have no idea.

is still off. Sometimes you get the bear...
One of the worst cylinders I fitted was a Redhawk. You have to have some inside knowledge and there are X, Y and Z dimensions that all work together. I finally got it done. Another dropped right in as a complete assembly.
My fave was the one with ratchet pad too tall

for ignition, which when reduced would leave boss too short and cylinder still too long to clear barrel. Could have modified gun which would have scrapped original cylinder.
If I ever mess with such again, it will be with a cylinder measured before I purchase, and known workable. Buying another gun is really the cure, which reminds me......
