for ignition, which when reduced would leave boss too short and cylinder still too long to clear barrel. Could have modified gun which would have scrapped original cylinder.

If I ever mess with such again, it will be with a cylinder measured before I purchase, and known workable. Buying another gun is really the cure, which reminds me......
