handgun. For years I hunted with a 44 and a 41 Auto Mag.

My love before and after the Auto Mags was S&W revolvers, chambered in 41 GNR.
About that time we started going on hunts out of state and out of country to Africa and Australia so my handgun choice changed a bit. I was building custom XP-100s and used them on quite a few hunts, mostly out west.
I get bored quite easily so during this phase I hunted quite a bit with a Grizzly in 45 Magnum.
going back to single shot handguns I hunted with Contenders in this country and in Africa.
when the Encore came out I immediately jumped to that in Australia and Africa
[image]
the Encore was accurate but heavy. Being a bit lazy I shifted back to the new G-2 in 41 GNR.
But even though I took a lot of critters with that 41 GNR in the G-2 I still missed my revolvers, so I built a couple of custom single actions and used them all over the world. And still do.

Taylor Throat (like Gary's Maxi-Throat but shorter) - Gary built a new cylinder after I bulged a bolt stop .. Gary's Set-Back Trigger .. For close or far anywhere in the world...

This is a favorite. .41 GNR and .41 Remington is hard to beat.

The .429 GNR is a true favorite of mine. I also have a complete custom .44 Mag/.44 Spec. cyl. & crane.

A new one but just needs the opportunity. .401 GNR, 10mm uber magnum on the .44 case. Also an extra .40 S&W cylinder for cheap brass and ammo. Scoped or irons it has some versatility.

This rig does it all. It's a great carry piece and handy hunter. I've taken this ram and a feral large dog with it so far. It's accurate!

Man that 429 is throwing a fireball!

You can tell a lot about a fireball.

My .429 GNR revolver is a stock gun re-chambered, with some cosmetic embellishments. The barrel/cyl. gap is about double what Gary would furnish with a re-barrel. You could spec the barrel to be set back and tighten the gap. That would cost a little but would be worth it for a custom.

I have some pics of FA guns with muzzle fire only, no cylinder flash. Their gap looks to be touching but is not. I have no gauge small enough to measure the gap! Personally I think they can be too tight for reliability.

we have people quite often ask usto make the barrel/cylinder

gap .001 or even a little less. we won't do it as when the gun heats up that will cause a small expansion of the metal, causing the barrel to touch the face of the cylinder which will bind up the gun. The smallest we will go is .002.

They are all my favorite

But the 3 I use most. First is my Wyoming Hunter in 41GNR#2[image][image][image][image][image][image][image]
Great gun for close to medium range day out to 75 yards off hand. For over
100 yards I need a single shot and a good test [image]
I like my G2 in 361Falcon[image][image][image]
And for African my Encore in 366GNR or 476Gnr[image][image][image][image][image][image][image][image]

your #3 pig has a branch under that looks like horns
