I did not meet another car until I got to town. City folks thinking they got to go someplace. Solid sheet of ice. My sphincter needs a cup of coffee.

The ice here came as sleet so it bounced off the trees and lines. Praise the Lord. I'm on pins and needles praying no one slides into a fire hydrant etc. today. Fridays are always the worse.

you got sleet as we did a bit west of you. With our snow on top, folk driving and compacting, highs below freezing but sun shining, and low near zero tonight, driving this afternoon and tomorrow morning should be most interesting.

Our "snow plows" are road graders, which should be finally at work today, but only main roads. So "subdivisions" are pretty much on own getting to a main road, which with a foot of snow.....

I always notice when I go south, how everyone drives on old worn out tires, and 2WD.

My AWD does fantastic until you let off the throttle! Then the engine braking gets you all sketchy. But you can't just stomp it all the time. Lots of fun. It's not natural to gas it when you start sliding toward the ditch.

My opinion is the south much worse for ice,

and often all it has as for winter precip. And never often enough to justify studded tires. Much less municipalities investing in snow/ice removal equipment used once every 1-5yrs.

Works that way on a motorcycle, steer it with the rear wheel (on the motorcycle)…pull it through the turn with front wheel drive or awd..

by putting it in neutral coming to a stop sign. Never understood that. The AWD straightens up with throttle, can't slide it around at all on the gas, until you get off the throttle. Then it's all over. It's not real natural for me.

ice here. Feet and feet of snow and often the snow gets packed so that it is much like ice. When I am coming up to a stop sign or red light I gear down, dropping down from 4th to 3rd or even 2nd and let the car slow itself down.
