Reeder Custom Guns - Ruger American .22 Magnum on the Range today

Spent some time on the Range .. part of it shooting my Ruger American .22 Magnum. Every time I shoot it I am amazed at the accuracy of this rifle! I wonder what all it would do in the hands of a real rifleman.

the Ruger 77/22 in 22 mag, the CZ 455 and the CZ 512 semi auto, and one or two others that I can't think of right now, all in 22 Mag but I don't have the American. Might have to check on that one.

This has been my favorite snowshoe hare hunting rifle since my brother got one in 1975 or so. Accurate and powerful. It's main flaw is that the mag tube isn't secured that good. It's easy for it to rotate and slip out onto the ground unnoticed.

the pointy 30ish grain loads seem the accuracy load today, but any comments/suprises on how it does with 40gr loads?

Not that I am such a good rifle shot ... I would like to see a real rifleman wring it out.

more like .375 H&H grouping with various weights and manufacturer. Have been thinking of a WMR bolt gun and wondering which one, and had not even thought of Ruger until your post yesterday. It seems the looking is over. Past current circumstances, of course. Thank you for the information.
