Both 65's (.357) and the .38 Special version M64's. Incredible, shootable, and useful, heavy barreled K-frame revolvers. They don't need much really, maybe a tune-up, round butting (huge array of grip options), and a more visible front sight. Some bob the hammers (something I don't like) but they are very serviceable as is. There are some new "full moon" conversions out there that allow very fast reloads too. Fine for competition but I think a bit frail to carry for duty and expecting the thin little metal strips not to get bent every so often.
I think I have a M64, if Doug chooses to give it back one day. LOL They are great all round handguns and generally hit POA with 158 gr. ammo. Hard to improve when you start with the best.

trade ins and they say right there in the write up that they may not be like in the picture and I have seen a lot of police trade ins that were pretty rough.

Pay a small premium and get a better grade or “hand picked” from stock on hand. If the lock work is serviceable new grips and fine bead blasting will give you a real looker on a stainless gun. You can do it to blued guns but coating or professional bluing is a commitment. But if you can see one in a shop and pick it out to suit you might snare you a good deal.
