Not totally finished, but close. Needs front sight.
My shotgun project; I may do a shake and bake on the receiver eventually. There are a lot of parts inside it, a pain to disassemble. A 10-shot 1100 farm gun with 6 hanging for re-supply. I’m looking at the XS glowing front sight kit. It’s a brass bead you drill a tap to install then JB weld the big dot over it. I bet it’s solid.

I’ve had some tube feed Marlin .22 WMR
And I like them, no mags to lose. But I’ve never had one shoot spectacularly. However, the clip fed versions shoot like the daylights! This is Benjamin’s he inherited. It sports a good Nikon scope and cheap mounts. The custom camo came with it too.
I taught Benj about MOA and showed him how to shoot “pairs” and adjust the 1/4” clicks at half distance. (1/8” movements per click) It was on paper so we will save bore sighting for later. .22 WMR is expensive, $22/50 so we savored our fun. He struggled with flinching a bit but when settled he could touch shots or group 1/4” or so at 50 yds. The 30 gr. Winchester ammo did good for us. BTW this IS a Microgroove gun, who said they wouldn’t shoot!

mine was a 22 LR. I was writing a column in a Nashville
newspaper on guns and hunting called Southern Sportsman back in the late 70s and decided to test out some of the new hyper velocity 22 LR cartridges. I had a Remington 241-t, a Remington 552, and a Marlin 99M1, and I borrowed a Winchester 52 sporter, and Marlin model 60. I tried the new CCI Stinger, the Remington yellow Jacket, the Winchester Expeditor and one other I can't think of now. At the end of the test the little Marlin 99M1 beat everything. They are a very accurate little rifle and I guess everyone knows that now as they run $400 to $500 if you can find a good used one.
