I have an older Stratford CT address stainless bulldog .44 and a 1964 Bridgeport address .38 undercover. Not up to the level of a Smith and Wesson in finish and smoothness but perfectly functional firearms. As John Taffin has noted the sights and factory wood grips on the bulldog are “just right”. I’ve been to the factory and met the owner. Nice guy. He had his shop go over both my guns for a check up and lube while I waited at no charge. I recently passed on a 3 inch undercover .38 (which I shouldn’t have). If I come across a blued .44 at a good price I’ll grab it.
