Novacks, and I note a flat mainspring housing coupled with a short trigger. Must be for smaller hands, like mine. It also has the ejection port relieved for case clearance. I always thought it kept dings out of the brass. Kase seems to think it's more of a gimmick, I think. The boy's sharp on the 1911.

All those points trying to make a better mousetrap than JMB figured. He died in 1927, before the P35-HP (1935) could be finalized.

I also read the firing pin retention plate on Browning's original patent has a "flat" bottom". Most modern guns today have a taper on the bottom. This makes cycling the slide notably easier. I read that changing that back to Browning's original design (pre WWI) can help prevent slide battering in recoil. Supposedly a good trick for 10mm 1911's. Some Army guys complained and the military changed this flat bottom to a taper as we most know it today.
