Reeder Custom Guns - Magazine Bumper Pads

Can a bumper pad be added to a .45 ACP magazine or do I need to buy a magazine with the pad already on it? Ruger SR1911 is the gun in question. It came with 2 magazines, both without bumper pads. A friend gave me a Chip McCormick Power Mag with a bumper pad, I much prefer the Chip McCormick magazine.

some glue on. They are simple to add. Even WB can do it. They had a reason for being as back in the mid 70s and all thru the years since many of the combat matches were held on concrete. The pad kept the magazine from getting damaged when dropped, plus the weight of the pad on the magazine helped it to drop out quicker during a match where the shooter is running from one position to another. Many of the match handguns had a magazine well attached to the bottom of the gripframe which was wider than normal and helped on a fast reload to get the new magazine in the gun, but they often stuck down close to 1/4 of an inch and the pad helped to seat the new magazine. So they weren't solely for looks but had several advantages.

matches they each had different colored bumper pads as they were both shooting custom 38 Supers. One had blue bumper pads while the other had red.
