S&W is doing something strange...Making a 9mm

out of metal and it has a hammer too. A lot of the young shooters will be amazed at a S&W made of steel and another metal for the frame. It is their new CSX. A small 12 shot 9mm that actually feels good in the hand.

Lots of good features in this little 9mm like an ambi safety and ambi slide release. Plus it can be carried cocked and locked.
The slide is steel and the frame another metal but it has the feel of steel. It is small but not too small.
Nate and I have different size hands but it fit both of us.
The CSX has slide serrations front and rear which help a lot on a small pistol.
It has an unusual trigger safety that works even if you don't have your trigger finger completely in the trigger guard.

The little CSX also has a small beavertail that keeps the hammer from biting the web of the hand.

The CSX has 3 white dot sights that stand out perfectly. You don't have to search to find them.

The gun comes with a 10 shot mag and a 12 shot mag. The 12 shot is in the gun in the pictures and it doesn't stick out at all.

Another thing I really like is it isn't set up for a red dot. I really get tired of seeing every handgun with a big blob sitting on top of the slide that stands out like a penis on a stud mule. This little 9mm is handy, fairly lightweight and fits the hand quite well. Let's just say I like the S&W CSX. And nobody is paying me to say that.

I'm no 9mm fanatic but that's a nice looking pistol, I had a 3913 for a few years but never shot it or carried it.

Man those little Smith's were the bee's knees

Just try to buy one now! Big money. I found the little 3913 about the perfect carry 9mm. I had several. They didn't seem to be inherently accurate or maybe that was just me. But for 15 yd. shooting they got it done and were reliable with JHP.

the CSX is smaller than the 3913 and is actually

smaller than my Star PD. One inch shorter in the barrel and half an inch shorter in the gripframe.

Do you know what price range it will be in? I wouldn't mind picking one up, 9mm ammo around here everywhere .45 is a lot harder to find right now and may be for some time.

Glad to see a pistol made out of metal, I can't stand plastic pistols!

I didn't pay a lot of attention to the price

I was just admiring the little pistol. I think it was around $550, give or take.

I looked one up and I think your right $550-$600 range. I always wanted one of those ASP 9mm's just because they had the cool factor.

But why SA only? Seems counter-intuitive

for a daily-carry piece. I would think it better to draw and squeeze....not draw...cock...squeeze..

But Heck if I know.

That's not quite right ...

It's "Pop the safety off as you are drawing and engage your target immediately."

Jim is right. I can shoot a lot more accurately with a

cocked & locked pistol than I can a pure double action. It seems I have the single action pistol locked in my hand and only moving my thumb to drop the safety, whereas with a double action pistol I seem to be moving my entire hand and the first shot is out there somewhere. Sometimes the second and third shot also.

yes and no. The CSX can be carried

cocked and locked. So in theory that is as good as DA.

That SIG 938 is popular so the M&P'ish CSX should

sell like hotcakes for less money. They should do well. I appreciate your early assessment report.
