Years ago, while researching for a reference book on Texas Longhorn Arms, I got to photograph K1, the prototype of the TLA Number Five. A few years after that, I was able to purchase it.

While the #5 grip frame is a bit on the short side for many folks, the TLA version is even shorter due to one person working on it shortening the frontstrap a bit to make it the proper length, then another person shortening it again, not realizing it had already been done. The names of the two now escape me, but they are in my notes somewhere. At least, that was the story I was told.

Someday, I will finish the book on TLA....
