When I cast 475’s and 510’s you only get 14 to 20 bullets per pound. Keep trying to source lead. Put the diving weight lead on an anvil and smack the edge with a hammer, look for cracking. Ideally you want it hard enough to not melt in the bore, but not so hard it cracks. After casting, do the same smash test with a hammer, or put a bullet in a vice and see how it holds together when crushed to half its cast length.
