41 gnr no 2
Was thinking of ordering a contender barrel for 41gnr no 2. Had a few questions
1. What is the ideal barrel length for velocity before the point of diminishing returns.
2. I doubt I’ll ever hunt with it but it sounds like in boar it should be effective from 100-150 years? I’ve read 255 lbt is the ideal hunting bullet
3. Being a California boy. Is there any load data out there for Barnes copper bullet s?

the ideal barrel length for the 41 GNR#2
would be 10 to 12". Not sure the part about 100-150 YEARS? I assume you mean 150 yards. The cartridge will be fine out to 200 yards. I have built barrels for guys in silhouette shooting and you have to knock over a 53 lb steel ram at 200 meters. The 255 grain LBT bullet with a gas check is a really good one, as is the 250 grain LBT. I have taken an African Savannah buffalo with the 255 grain bullet in a 410 GNR revolver and the 41 GNR#2 will beat the 410 GNR by about 300 fps.

There is load data for 210 grain and 255 grain bullets and if you can find a Barnes bullet in either of those weights the same load data will work. Or if the bullet you find is lighter in weight you can still use the same data that is shown for the 210 grain bullet.
