Measuring throats on DA rovolvers

So to add to my thread earlier about a one-size-WORKS-BEST across multiple 45 Colt revolvers, I have 2 Redhawks and an Anaconda. Short of taking them apart to get the cylinder out to accurately measure the throats, I'd have to find a way to measure them. The old bullet drop through the cylinder trick?
