about below. He brings up a good topic and one I had mentioned about having a wife or youngster with an AR backing you up and like we have discussed before you can't stay awake 24 hours but a dog can, the main reason to have a dog in your home. Here is his feelings on the subject.....

One thing that usually is not mentioned in SHTF discussions is .. do you have anyone with you? I know a guy in Colorado .. retired military of fairly high rank .. who has machine guns, grenades etc. He has a pretty much a compound and it is set up so he can defend it. But he is by himself. You have to sleep sometime. You can't watch your back when you are attacked from the front. Having family and/or friends that you can trust with your life is vital. A person will not last the first fight otherwise .. not if they are facing a trained group or overwhelming numbers.

The other thing that often is never mentioned ... escape, evasion, avoidance, and deception. Avoiding a fight is better than engaging. Deception can help. I knew of this guy who lived through riots in Detroit years ago. He and his family burned oily rags in hibachi's beneath open windows of their house. The had small fans blowing the smoke out the windows. The house appeared on the outside to have been looted and set on fire. They avoided direct confrontation with looters. Confrontation is always the last thing, and is to be avoided until the time when there is no other way. Hopefully that time can be avoided.

Stay well. I pray we never need to use the tools we have. But I am trying to stay proficient with them.
