AR15? Windham or S&W M&P?? WHICH ONE?

I'm looking at 2 different AR15s, 223, should I opt for the Windham Weaponry (prior bushmaster?) or Smith & Wesson?

Is easy for any family member to use for defense. No scopes, or push button gadgets. Just factory sights, point and shoot. Keep it simple ( and inexpensive)

When Stoner developed the AR platform he did so so that when a soldier had a problem with his weapon he could hand it to the armorer and the armorer could drop in new pieces for worn out pieces and get it back in service. some ARs have special features but most are the same. There are only 4 or 5 companies that make the uppers and lowers. There is a little figure on the upper and lower that tells which company made it. All the parts you see on the internet will fit all the guns, some with a little coaxing. But for all practical purposes they are the same. If you pay more than $800 or so you are screwing yourself. I have several ARs, each by different makers and they are all the same. I like the Armalite myself, but that is due to its feel. It has a smooth forend without all the picatinny rails all over it. I have shot all of them during an afternoon of test firing and making sure they were sighted in and none were any more accurate than the others. One is a Colt HBAR, the heavy barrel target gun and it is no more accurate than the others. So flip a coin, or go for the one that is the least expensive.
