The interchangeable barrels are over $1000 each and the scope mount that stays attached to the barrel is $500 by itself. His is a cheap hunter's grade rig with synthetic furniture and matte finish, around $5000! Really prissy ones begin at $10k and shoot the same as Doug's less adorned rig.

They are a straight pull action, the bolt handle moves maybe 1/4", rotating rearward which unlocks the multi-lug bolt head. It looks like the AR15 bolt head in style. The heads are interchangeable too for caliber swaps. The trigger assy. and magazine are all one piece. I don't really like that feature but it works. You can pop it out and load or top it off from the top side like a Mauser.

Having never touched the gun I shot two rounds that the holes touched, making a "8" at 100 meters. The 286 gr. soft points ran around 2300 fps. Lighter 250 gr. ammo with Nosler bullets clocked 2700 fps.

It's an exotic platform but outlandishly well engineered. Anyone can about pick it up and take game proficiently if they can shoot. It's extremely use friendly under stress. The barrel and scope are bolted to the platform and the locking bolt basically slides on these receiver rails freely locking/unlocking the rotary bolt face. It is extremely smooth feeling. The whole top is open while cycling so it is accessible. It is also natural in function and lightning fast!

Another unique feature I like is the "safety". It basically cocks or uncocks the main sear spring. Can't get much safer than that, mechanically.

Asa a hunting gun I'd prefer a drop magazine but other than reloading after 3-4 rounds it's a moot point.
