Joe was a game biologist in Alaska for many years and encountered many big game animals during that time, some of which he shot. He says he used a 44 Magnum a time or two but didn't like the recoil so he stayed with his Colt Python and other revolvers chambered in 357 Magnum. This was the caliber he chose to carry with him because he knew he could put the bullets where he wanted, and he used head shots to kill at least one of every big game animal in Alaska, with the exception of walrus.
