Was wondering if anybody here has one? Whats your thoughts, good or bad? Ordered recently, how long was your wait?

Waited 20 months to get my automag. During that time I made ammo out of 308 brass since I couldn't get any from anywhere including starline. Everything about the automag is expensive, right down to mags, ammo ect... Finally I got it and couldn't wait to shoot it. 150 rounds later with only one failure to feed and a smile as broad as Texas I couldn't have been happier. I have never handled or shot one of the originals but this automag seems to be well made, heavy, accurate(if you do your part) sharp report, loud and a blast to shoot (Puts a smile on your face like a 3 year old kid). For me it was worth the wait and I plan on taking it hunting with me. I just need to shoot it some more and get comfortable with it as it is quite a bit different then what I'm use to.

with my 44 Auto Mags mostly although the 41 Auto Mag (a Lee Jurras designed cartridge) was the most accurate. I had 2 or 3 of the 357 Auto Mags and although folks that were better shots than me said they were the most accurate of the bunch, that wasn't true of my guns. I even had one of the 8" barrels and it never performed that well for me.
My 44 Auto Mags took a large number of animals for me from whitetail deer up to Bison. My longest shot with an iron sighted handgun was taken with a 44 Auto Mag at almost 200 yards. Thank goodness I had a video of that shot, in fact 2 shots. The first put the animal down and a second put it down for good. I have regretted selling my last 44 Auto Mag a few years ago but my eyes just aren't what they used to be plus I was offered about 10 times what I paid for it quite a few years ago. I had ruined any collector value it had by full engraving the barrel but at the time didn't have plans on selling it. But things change.
I am just glad the new Auto Mag is finally being delivered to those that have been waiting so long.
The Auto Mags are somewhat picky but with the right load and correct length brass (1.296") the gun will be the most accurate handgun you own.
I asked Jack Huntington about them and he said they fixed

The problems from the originals and he hunts with them. I think between him and Gary you would have all the knowledge in the world on Automags
