1911 iwb holster?

It works for Officers model or Commander. I wear it SOB, but the cant is adjustable as is tension. It gets hot here in New Mexico, leather gets wet and sweaty. It probably is more comfortable.

molded holsters. They are inexpensive and durable. The trigger is fully covered which I believe to be paramount in a CCW holster. I like the models that are small, just gun size. The wide paddle and multiple, hybrid leather/kydex things are just goofy to me. The main feature I look for is a good belt clip that has a bit of adaptability as to the angle.

The CCW trainer I used was zealous bout the appendix carry. This typically uses a straight up and down holster profile. I'm not keen about sweeping ANY body parts with the muzzle, much less my special purpose! But I find the "appendix" angle works best for IWB small of back/hip carry for me. It's a very personal choice.

It's not really the length of the gun that I notice carrying. It's more the width and grip length. One may wonder why they made long slide guns with short grips, that's the reason! My small Kahr PM45 I often forget I have it. It's a training problem I actually am working on, I forget I'm armed! The gun is single stack (like a 1911) so thin, and it has a short grip (6-shot). Many other semi-autos have a like trait, and the 1911 is great to carry except for being 2-1/2 lbs! The Kahr is over a pound lighter than a loaded 1911. I really like the alloy framed Govt. model. It's on my long list. That shaves 1/2 a pound right there.

If you try a common Kydex just keep the price point down so you are not too deep if you don't like it. You can trade it off or give it to a friend who likes it. I find the $25 versions just as functional as the $75 boutique plastic rigs. Seek a made in America cottage vendor with some following.
