What a sad tale and beautiful rifle.

I have always wanted one to try myself. John Wooters wrote a wonderful story when I was a boy about taking out his Uncle's guns and shooting at ducks on the water. They had a M95 in .405 Win. and a 10 ga. double. Like little Elmer mused "if you can't handle recoil, you ain't a man", or something to the effect. But sometimes it's real tough to be a man! lol

Also Osa Johnson and her husband took them to Africa in the 1920's using them to great effect. Prior to that the Roosevelt expeditions seemed to always have a 1895 around as did some of the early Arctic explorations. The gun literally drips history and adventure.
