The SIG I probably should have bought but didn't

I got a X-carry 320 which is basically the military M18 with no safety, the X-frame module, and the straight faced trigger. All the features I did not like on the M18. It also came with (3) of the 17-shot mags. *Marked Italy, no doubt in my mind made by Mecgar for SIG.

The Reeder belt slide covers the trigger and does wonders for comfortable OWB carry.

It's a fine gun almost exactly the same size as a Glock 19 (never a wrong choice - cliché'). It seems fatter than I thought but is not really by measuring. The ergonomics for me, with smaller hands, are perfect, as is the trigger action. However, like the Glock, it is a combat handgun cut down to a smaller size. It's not a little gun.

I cannot get out of my mind this other SIG gun the dealer forced into my hand, the 320 X-Compact. It's just a small amount shorter (0.3") and shorter grip module (15-rnds. not 17) but what a Goldilocks gun. It's just right in the hand. I wish I had never handled it. It might be worth your look for a CCW rig. Take note the X-carry and Compact are the same price, but some only come with (2) mags not (3) and the mags are around $50 out the door.

Both great "normal" size CCW guns, the 365 is teeny in comparison and still holds 12 rnds. But it's made to carry more and shoot less compared to the gigger chassis guns. Barrels are conventional rifling too, not polygonal, so more lead bullet friendly.

I still like the Beretta 92X too, and while I cannot afford it right now, I still have it on my list. My old M92A1 is still good. I also have a M96FS that I might try to get a more X-gun feel from, by installing extra thin G10 grips and the Wilson short trigger. That might be a good in-between diversion.
