today that is supposed to go into effect in 120 days. The news release was very vague concerning what they consider a Ghost Gun and what part of building your own gun could be effected by this ban. The confusion was concerning those that buy legal parts for guns like an AR-15 and build their own gun, even those with serial numbers. Lots of dis-information in the release. There will be more actual info on this later.

So what is going to happen

when you take a gun in trade or an estate that was built before 1968 and doesn't have a serial number?

Are you going to be required to add one and register the gun/serial number with the ATF?

on older guns it is not required (those before 1968)

on Ghost Guns we will have to add a serial number. Not sure of notifying the ATF as we don't do it on our own guns where we add the serial number. It won't be any big deal as we are already a licensed manufacturer and putting serial numbers on guns is an everyday thing. It will probably be a real pain in the butt for standard gun shops that don't have the equipment to do this. I guess we will find out all this as we go along. I am sure there will be a lot of lawsuits between now and then.
