semi? A bunch of guys say 1911 by reflex, but are you really gonna carry a 3 lb. rig all the time? Do you worry about the off chance you might encounter a drugged up nut with a carbine? Some do I guess. Perhaps you worry less and have a more laid back attitude? Choices have to be made. Things are getting crazier, how prepared are you, all the time, part time? I know I need to get with the program. Make a more dedicated decision and stick with it.

As mentioned I have a bunch of Glocks and wanted to try something different. Not that anything is wrong with them. So I tried a Sig 320. Picked my best effort. Alas, I'm not satisfied. Felt too bulky up front, grip was just not exactly right. Aging brings a Goldilocks attitude on some things. I ordered a Wilson Carry II module to address my desires, $85 OTD. We'll see.

I too love the 1911, HP, too. I have a couple Beretta's, a family-wide favorite. They have large voids in the chassis that are filled with cartridges! I can carry the big Beretta and be fine, with some adjustments. But I've fantasized about a light weight Commander 1911. Thin and 1/2 lb. lighter, I might really like that. Colt, S&W, Ruger, I know made them. I wish someone was making LW HP chassis rigs, they have made them in the past. Wonder why they stopped?

A thin, single stack, LW, .45 with 9 rnds. available, is fine by me.

Star BM with my handloaded +P ammo, consisting of 124 Hornady XTP and a case full of AA#7.

I really like the little BM, better than the PD to me

it's under-stressed and reliable. The only minor burr is the expensive mags, but how many do you really need.

My daily is a Walther PPS M2. Flat and it works.

and I sold that last one for a price I'm embarrassed to say. That's why I don't have it anymore. It paid for most of a FA83 in .454!

and constant refinement. It makes it difficult for a guy that likes a certain design, it's quickly obsolete.

Commander in 45 or a 66 3 inch. It has been the same for years. Have found nothing better.

That 66 is a good one, I have a 4".

However I think I like the L-frame version even better. 4" 7-shot and a round butt. Man I need to start carrying THAT some! I got a freebie holster from Irv at HHC. It was basically a basketweave version of Gary's slide type but also had a strap and snap. Special made for a K-frame though. For the life of me I can't find it right now. When I do....

Same here,

Smaller guns are comfortable kit but reduction in size comes at a reduction in useable range and difficulty in control. If you knew you were going to a gunfight you’d take a rifle or shotgun! The handgun is for “what if”. That broken down comes into the variables that must be accessed. How threatened is this trip? But no man knows what he will encounter. I’d hate to go against a crackhead with an AK armed with a 2.5” .32. But if that’s what you got you better be proficient. How much better would you be in that confrontation with a 1911 .45? Yet a hit with a .32 is better than a miss with a .45! It really makes you think about things.
