show increasing interest. I never pushed it on them and it eventually came to them naturally. I'm starting to look around and face reality, just how much longer do I have to tinker around, what will I actually get around to. It's so much better than money. The experiences and memories.
The process of a Reeder Custom was unique, at least to me. Not like other custom 'Smiths that literally took years. You forgot all about those, no enjoyment of anticipation. Gary at his peak was putting out full customs in 6-8 months when he had the staff and could get parts easily. It was a blissful time. The anticipation of the concept, base gun acquisition, selection of features and details, placing the order, kicking around the ideas with guys on the forum. then that blissful day Gary posted some pre-shipment pics! Man was that sweet! Tracking UPS, the opening, making ammo, testing and planning. I personally truly had a fine time with each of my Reeder Customs. So much life happened around these diversionary orders, I truly needed them.
I can only speak for myself, but when I hold one of my Customs it means so much more to me than "just a gun". It's good times and people, friends. I thank God for the memories and fellowship. God bless Gary and all the guys. I'm making more Reeder Custom good times with my children, while I can. Roman is just discovering fine revolvers, Benjamin is really interested in reloading, and my daughter Tori likes shooting and can appreciate the aesthetics I chose on my pieces. Literally physical art that is functional, made to use.
