BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street own about 90% of the S&P 500 and over 40% of all publicly traded companies. Keep digging. When you find out how the financial system is set up it will make you head spin. Look into the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation. Also, look into the owners of the media conglomerates. As George Carlin said: "It's a big club and you ain't in it."
