like the lightweight Colt Commander and the Star PD. Probably not a bad idea either for guns that are used in the combat games where you have to use top end loads. I use them in my AMT Longslide as I only shoot the hottest 45 ACP 230 grain ball ammo in it. In the several years I shot in the combat games I shot well over 70,000 rounds thru it (probably more as Kase used it for a couple of years shooting combat loads too). The gun is ported so the buffers might not be necessary but I use them anyway. The porting on a 1911 type frame just wasn't done back in '77 and '78 so my gunsmith at the time, Gary Case, did the porting on our milling machine.
