Just curious as to what insect pests do you have to deal with when you are in the outdoors during the summertime?

Here in Southern New England it is as follows:

Deer ticks.

Deer flies.

Horse flies.

Mosquitoes.

No See Um midges depending on where you are at.

It does make forays into the wilds a tad miserable.

Central Illinois - killed 15 - 20 deer flies that

were swarming around me yesterday. Nasty! Too dry right now for mosquitos but the deer flies are making up for it. Buffalo gnats can be pesky as well but not yet this year. And ticks of course...

We have very few bugs up here at 8000 feet. It is too cold most of the year for them. We never have to worry about ticks or fleas on our dogs. We see a few regular house flies but that's it.

we have to deal with Phoenicians. They come up from the valley and set our forest on fire.
