Reeder Custom Guns - PMR30 doesn't cycle with 30 grain ammo

I have a PMR30 and today I shot it with both CCI 30 grain ammo and 40 grain ammo. The 40 grain functioned perfectly but the 30 grain didn't... The fired brass didn't get ejected and actually ended up pushed back into the chamber.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Granted, the gun is brand new and maybe it just needs more cartridges run through it.

picky with what they will cycle. What does the manual say? It's certainly worth consulting. No doubt the gun will slick and loosen up after a couple hundred rounds. I'm astounded that ANY .22 WMR will cycle semi-auto. I've watched failure after failure for some 50 years, until just of late.

pretty much every every brand of 22 mag. The PMR30 does best with all brands no matter what the weight is. The RIA XTM22 functions with probably 75% of the 22 magnum that is available. As long as I stick with the Hornady Critical Defense the RIA functions perfectly. The RIA is the most accurate of the 2.

We have had 2 of the PRM30s and both functioned flawlessly. I gave one to my daughter but both never faltered with any ammo.

So, I'll try my other gun with that ammo to see if it functions properly. The only reason I have two is because when I ordered ONE I thought the order didn't go through so I tried again. It turned out BOTH orders went through so when I got to the store there were two guns waiting for me

the 30 grain Hornady V Max functioned perfectly. The 40 grain CCI 22 Mag also functioned thru all 3 of my 22 Magnums. The Hornady Critical Defense functions fine in my current PMR30 and the RIA so I try to just stick with that. I stocked up a year or 2 ago and don't waste it target shooting. The guns are sighted in so any accuracy or non-accuracy is up to me.
And I guess I should mention that just because my PMR30s work with 30 grain bullets doesn't mean they all will. So take my comments with a grain of salt.

was the AMT Auto Mag 2. Mine was only reliable with the Federal red box 22 Mag. The other brands were so so. None of the foreign brands were reliable in my AMT. I haven't tried any of them in the PMR30s or the RIA. I bought them for small game hunting and trial and error don't go well in the hunting field.

butter. Both of my PMR30s and the RIA both function fine with the Hornady 30 grain V-Max. The RIA will bobble maybe 2 rounds in a box of 50 but the PMR30, both of them, loved that ammo.

The 30 grainers I tried in my PMR seemed to always jam on the 3rd round. I’m sure the high quality of Hornady ammo has sufficient power to cycle the gun reliably. Not a lot available to try.
