Gary and anyone else who has had shoulder surgery, where were you physically at 6 weeks post op?
Facing a rotator cuff repair, labrum repair, and possibly bicep tendosis next month. Non dominant side thankfully. Have been thinking about pushing it out till after the HHC in Oct.
I will be exactly 6 weeks post op the week of the HHC, and I'm not missing this one.

I've had 3. Twice left(support), once right (strong). Everyones physiology is different. Personally at six weeks I was barely able to wash my own hair and backside. I had major damage to both all 3 times. 95% or better on both now. 2004 back to back rt/left. Left again 2015. Good luck, rehab is very important for good results, and is/was no picnic.
I have had both shoulders done. Right shoulder has 5 screws

holding it on. Left side required slicing and dicing, no screws. I had the big thick cushion and sling for 4 weeks, had to sleep sitting up during that time, then only very light work the next 4 weeks. If you plan on going to the HHC and hunting I would put the surgery off until mid October or so.

Have had back surgery before, no hardware. This shoulder surgery seems to be more involved than that , and with more recovery time.
Looks like I'm pushing it out till mid October, thanks again!

Ditto with Gary, just no hardware in mine. Sling 1st month, 6wks out start of rehab. Big thing is the shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body, takes a lot stress daily, and a lot of work too get it back in any shape after surgery

Had mine done in 2000, 6 weeks would be pushing it. It lasted until now. Need replacement now. During CT and MRI other things were found so the shoulder may have to wait.

it later on. Another part of me says do the surgery as soon as you can so you can get back to enjoying life. If you have a bucket list of things you want to do, then don't put it off any longer. Get the surgery behind you and concentrate on things you have wanted to do forever. None of us is promised tomorrow.
I have a bucket list that I have been trying the last couple of years to empty but none of us can plan on tomorrow. Sometimes fate pops up and kicks us in the ass. Get the surgery done and behind you and get back to enjoying life.
