Another reason for everyone to carry at all times.

Go with only a pocket .380 and a couple mags. I’d sure hate to go against a half-ass shooter wielding AR or AK. The thought does cross my mind depending where I’m going, who is with me, etc. I’d be much better off with a good wheel gun that had a fiber optic front sight. My Reeder El Diablo comes to mind. The receiver of payload would not care a bit if it was a .44 or came from a SA platform. I am good with that gun.

The situation in that Mall over the weekend stresses

accuracy over just carrying a gun. I don't know how far the shooter was from the young kid (22 years old) when he took the shooter down. And if he was carrying a small caliber P.O.S. then he might as well have not even pulled his gun on a shooter with (I think) an AR-15. To pull a gun on a crazed shooter who has an AR-15 with 30 round mag, you better know your carry gun is enough to put down somebody who plans on killing a lot of folks. A small wound or even a miss could really make things worse. To break it down into words that Monsieur Boggs can relate to, leave the piss ant 22 or 32 or 380 home to use on stray possums. If you are going to carry in public where the first shot needs to count then carry something that is accurate (with you shooting) and something that will put the bad guy down, then make sure you are carrying a caliber that will do so and with one or two shots. Nuff said.

He engaged the shooter

from a reported 40 yards away. I don't know what caliber he was using but most likely a .32 or .380 would not have been very efficient.

Witnesses said he shot 10 rounds at the mall shooter

so it wasn't a 6 round revolver. Other than that it could have been just about any current hi cap pistol. I guess we will know more soon.

Here...
