Tactical Manssiere, for Winn's curiosity

Just for fun... We have a house some 50 miles away that I worry over. It's difficult to keep good tabs on it all the time, despite some video cameras. I need a visual presence there for any watching eyes. The neighborhood is remote but the neighbors seem to watch out for each other and keep an eye out for the unusual.

So I go over 2-3 times a week by myself and spend the night there after work. Currently in the good weather I ride my motorcycle over. I'm getting 47 mpg at the moment, one gallon there, one gallon back, to save expense. It's usually dusk when I get there. 15 acres mostly wooded and the house is not really visible from the road. After going through the locked gate the immediate thing I do is "sweep" the house for intruders or sighs of unusual mischief. I usually do not circle the exterior as it's just physically difficult.

So I enter the door and with my handgun out, usually the 500 lumen light attached and on, I check the house. Deck door, still latched, couple little hiding spots, the hallway is the worst. It's a choke point that I cannot check out all at once. There is a staircase involved too, horrible exposure trying to check those out and turkey necking up to check the a-frame little room above. The bathroom and back door, entrance to the utility room is right there too. If a booger was going to jump out and nail you with a cleaver that is where I would booger-up. I have some spider traps in the floor in front of some interior doors that I can tell at a glance if they have been moved. So I make it through the large bath, through the walk through closet into the master bedroom. I check the bedroom entrance to the deck to ensure it's still latched. Finally I circle back through the office area, returning to the choke point and kitchen entrance. I must do this each time I'm there alone to feel comfortable.

Riding a bike over in 100 deg. heat I find the Kangaroo Carry rig very comfortable. I'm not worried about a rig sticking out on my hip, everything is hidden. Access requires a little adjustment but I usually am more concerned with simply having it and retention. I'm drawn anyway sweeping the house and once at the place I switch to the Reeder belt slide anyway.

I have had this outfit for about 10 yrs. and use it quite a bit, mostly in summer, and at church. They make tuckable IWB holsters but I like this better. I've used it with swimwear at the beach and car trips are great. If you have to stop at McDonalds to take a dump you have no worries about your handgun clattering onto the floor. Plus the extra weight of a large gun is not pulling my britches down every step. However I do still use a couple IWB Kydex rigs and belt holsters too when I can cover them with a jacket or coat.

I usually carry a larger semi-auto and two mags on the offside. Today it was a G30s and 20 extra rounds to go with the 10. The ammo alone is hefty! They include a big industrial size brass clothespin to fold the end of the carry pouch up to suit the nominal length of the gun. There is an elastic retention strap with velcro on the end. It's machine washable too and my velcro has held up well.

For $50 it's not a bad deal. I got the natural canvas color so it would not ghost through my white dress shirts.
