Shootsts Ruger Sr1911
I was living in Mozambique when The Shootists had their 30th Anniversary. Quite amazing since I was privileged to be invited by John Taffin to participate in what started The Shootists!
For the 30th Anniversary The Shootists had Ruger make up a nice SR1911 .. bead-blasted stainless frame with a blued slide and special grips, designed I believe by the late Jeff Quinn. The slide was engraved with "1985 - Shootists 30th Anniversary - 2015" on the left side and on the right side our motto " MEN WHO STAND IN THE GAP" .. a reference from Ezekiel 22:30 where God said He was looking for someone who would stand in the gap for Jerusalem and protect the land, but could find no one. In The Shootists we found people that would "stand in the gap." As I told someone in the early days, I met me there that I would trust with my bank account, my wife and my kids .. and I would not have to worry about them. John Taffin is a great example of that kind of man.
The 30th Anniversary Ruger SR1911 is a beautiful gun .. great sights, nice trigger, feels at home in the hand. The only things I have done to mine is (1) Remove the stupid "Please read the manual" warning and (2) replace the Ruger slide stop with one from Rock Island.
I enjoy shooting it and it seems accurate with most anything I have run through it.

This is not a truck gun. It's my Sunday-Go-To-Meeting gun and my Barbecue Gun.
