talking about the gun bill passing and the VA bill not passing. I told them the same thing I posted below to Joe's post. That VA bill was full of pork, and very very little went to the VA. I will try to find a list of the liberal projects that were in the bill.

This was the reason the VA bill failed

Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey said in a brief interview after the vote that he wanted to address a “budget gimmick” in the bill that he believes would lead to an increase in spending unrelated to providing health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits.
“And the reason for that, is to create a $40 billion annual hole in discretionary spending under the cap,” Toomey said. “And allow all kinds of spending on who knows what.”

If passed it would have been a field day for liberal politicians to run their special project bills thru. Hopefully that part of the bill can be taken out so a good health care bill can be passed for our military.

Thanks Gary

Aha! It is amazing that so many organizations I belong to were for the bill, and missed the trap that was set. That really is nasty but I know democrats will use just about anything to get what they want. While they are for the most part a bunch of unprincipled bunch of SOB's I do admire that they will stick to something until they get it, one way or another. Too bad we don't have republicans with grit.
