Lee Herpolsheimer. Lee wanted the gun rechambered to 356 GNR and refinished to a soft satin Vapor Honed finish and an action job. Ended up being the perfect hunting revolver. Any smears you might see are some light oil still on it.

Nice hunting gun, great caliber. Those grips have really nice stripping/wood grain. Enjoy!
If I remember 4227 really stepped up in .356 GNR

I began with classic 296/H110 but 4227 gave almost equal performance rather than being 10% slower as typical. The reliability and consistency of 4227 is great too.
Been playing with 2400 in mine

Hmm. Would that work on a Colt Hwy Patrol MkIII that is currently .357? And some other mods and engraving? Would an octagon bbl be out of place or look weird?
The cylinder would have to be around 1.8" in diameter to be

safe for the 356 GNR. We can go down to 1.75 but that is the smallest size that would be safe.

Here’s an early build on a 627 S&W prototype of the Cat Hunter Series. I picked up an extra stock 38/357 cylinder, which makes a great light practice round with new shooters and a 38 wad cutter. Then swap out cylinders, and you have a 356GNR with wonderful power, and light recoil for hunting or heavier shooting
