Reeder Custom Guns - Unusual convertible?

Guy on a gunsite was inquiring today about the possibility of obtaining a .30SC cylinder to fit his Ruger .32H&R Single-Six. Would this be a good idea? Would you, Gary, be interested in doing this?

Probably the "30 Super Carry" designed to be more compact than the 9mm nato and more effective than the .380acp. Hmmm .45GAP come to mind? Sounds like chicken salad to me.

Call it a 10.4mm. Load it to 10mm pressure. It may not be as good an idea as the 475 Achilles, but what the heck.

Reasons that escape me personally. A .45 ACP necked to .410 like the later .400 Cor-bon but a longer neck. All you needed was a barrel and dies to turn your 1911 into a .41 Special semi. But it was dropped. There was another semi auto in .41 also short lived.

If you were going to do it 7.62x39 brass blown straight work fine with a .410” bullet in them. That’s how I make .401 WSL (I know the correct bullets are .406-.408, cast it’s ok). Shortening it that much might necessitate inside neck reaming. I’ve also lathe turned the rims off .41 mag. brass (turning them into semi-rimless for the .401) and long seated lead bullets to perfect effect, so that would work too.

. . . of the cartridge in the Wiki link, and I don't see anything preventing it being chambered in a revolver cylinder, but that's why I was hoping for Gary's input.

The practicality of the round doesn't enter into the question, but I note that manufacturers are making guns for it.

power than the 9mm and a bit hotter than the 380. So where is the benefit? Federal has been known thru the years for coming out with new cartridges that don't seem to have a reason for. The 9mm Federal for instance. If there were some benefits to the cartridge I would jump all over it, unfortunately there aren't. There is nothing this cartridge will do that a good 9mm won't do better. As far as in a revolver just like the 9mm or 45 ACP, it should fit in a cylinder with no problems. Sorry to be so negative but you asked my humble opinion.

The other part of my question was . . . would you be interested in making a cylinder for someone who wanted to try this combination out for themselves? If so, what would be the cost?

sold his company and from what I hear the new folks are 6 to 8 months behind. I also don't have any of the ammo to do the headspace and test firing so that is another problem. Another problem is I have to talk myself into it. That might be the hardest part.
