Reeder Custom Guns - BACKDOOR HUNTING BAN?

The WH and F&W Service are contemplating (planning?) to ban any bullets containing lead from all federal lands. Idaho is over 60% federal land and the vast majority of hunting is done in National Forests. This would basically shut down hunting as very few bullets/ammunition are available with all copper construction. There is no way ammunition manufacturers could gear up and change everything by hunting season. Build Back Better Biden.

They went behind the shooters backs a few years back and told the F&W that the no lead ammo wouldn't be a problem for the shooters and hunters, knowing that they were the only ones making no lead bullets. I got this from Puffy as he was managing a gun shop at the time and talked to the F&W during all this.

Factory Winchester with a 27 gr. (?) bullet at over 1600 fps. They “tinned” my bore pretty good and shot ok. The bullets were very soft. I figured they just needed more lube and was going to alox some to see. Can’t remember where they went.

I the they made a CA spec. .22 WMR too.

This is a opportunistic move to regulate in favor of a provider. Follow the money
I'll bet some of it comes back to the folks who make the rules

Rotometals has a bismuth alloy for bullet casting. I haven't tried it yet but the CA fish & game lists their website as a source for non-lead bullets. I don't believe it would be easy to convince a fish cop that you're carrying non-lead bullets.

If you have special shotshells it better say it on the hull or have the box handy. I don't know how CA cops do it. Maybe they have a Pb test kit they use in the field?

We are almost finished with a full custom 6" 1911 for a fellow in California and he called a couple of days ago saying that California only allows Rock Island 1911's and they have to be stainless and 5". This is just the opposite of what we were building for him. So now I either have to try to buy a stainless Rock Island 5" or just return his deposit to him. It just isn't worth the time and expense to try to buy another gun and chop it up to fit California's rules. I plan to just send him his deposit back and chalk it up as a screwing from California.

All my lead no longer identifies as lead. It now self-identifies as "Semi-Precious Heavy Metal For Heavy Metal Music" and therefore does not come under the regulations of lead.

It all began with an "Environmental" concern for waterfowl that is totally senseless, baseless, and a blatant lie. It's since spread to other areas and I could see an attempt for a Nationwide push for all ammunitions', not just "hunting" ammo. I'd not be too surprised. That is how it starts. "Death by 1,000 cuts".

Copper/Tin alloys are a potential solution as are "hydraulically expanding" solid projectiles, once certified by state game and fish as not "full metal jacket or equivalent, non-expanding" which are currently prohibited from hunting fields.

If you like hunting you might take up the bow and arrow. But that is not politically safe either. Anyone self reliant or able to defend themselves, by whatever manner, is a risk to tyranny and Marxism. Some locals in Europe have prohibitions to archery equipment or serious restrictions on broadheads or poundage/power of tackle. A fellow not long ago killed a half dozen people in a "bow" attack. That really publicized this to Socialists and I bet they will not soon forget.
