My experience ended differently...

I lived in an apartment at the time. A stray city cat frequented the grounds & fought with mine on several occasions. Think each won a few rounds over the other, but after a few vet bills, I located an old break action single shot pellet pistol & some wad cutter style pellets.

One evening the stray showed up in the side yard. I carefully aligned the sights upon his south end through the window screen & squeezed off the shot.

You have no idea how surprised I was when that pellet bounced off the window screen & hit me in the forehead.

So much for that plan.
