FOR SEVERAL REASONS. 1) LACK OF SALES; 2) TOO EXPENSIVE TO BUILD, 3) THE PRODUCTION LINE CAN BE USED FOR SOEMTHING THAT IS EASIER TO BUILD, CHEAPER TO MAKE,AND SELLS.

room for building Colt revolvers. They also own Dan Wesson and the Wesson 1911s sell a lot quicker than an expensive rifle. Simple economics.

I found out about the changes early and quickly bought one of the last of the old Mauser style .416 Rigby safari rifles to come off the line. Their new action is similar to the inexpensive three lug designs being produced around the world. However, they appear to be planning to release some special "Lux" versions with wooden stocks, and also some mini versions in 7.62X39 etc. So maybe its not all bad.
