I was trying to instill the real world value of a powerful revolver compared to a handy semi-auto that has limitations. The .45 ACP is not a reliable killer on game, while it can do the job. A .44/.45 with 50-100% more power really makes a difference.
While some DA are notably bulky, I feel the Redhawk 5.5" is about max for comfort. What handy and powerful wheelguns do you recommend the boys take a peek at? I think 5.5" barrels would be about max for handiness. You know the boys, .454 and .500's are in the hunt if they are not too bulky.
They were still hung up on semi-autos on the way home. The .50 AE of Roman's is just too big for me. It is accurate and the trigger not too bad, I just don't shoot it well. I have a .460 where I can hot load the .45 in my Glock 21, it's not too bad.
