Another "pink box" treasure...

Was this little air-pistol. I think it may work, it had two lead pellets stuck in the bore. (re-seal kits may be available too) It's a few years old as I had to go back and search it. It's made by UMAREX and is not a copy of any actual gun, more of a mix. The latch is S&W but pushing it backward is a safety. Pushing the latch forward releases the cylinder crane just like a real revolver, complete with chambers and ejector rod. The heft is very surprising as it's some type of metallic casting and is actual weight of the real thing. Sights are adjustable too. They do still make this product, upscaled into the "Dan Wesson" line of airguns. Same mechanics except a true DW front crane latch, they truly look the part.

There were two models of these some time ago, rifled for pellets and smoothbore (This example is smoothbored) for BB. The little cartridges hold the projectile in the front portion as a press fit and CO2 is blown through like a pea-shooter to propel. Power is low 300-400 fps depending on specs. but as a trainer it would be fantastic. It loads, feels, shoots like a real SA/DA revolver. It would also get you shot proper with the police as it is hard to distinguish from a real revolver, except by close examination.

CO2 is not exactly cheap to shoot anymore, about $1 per 100 rounds fired for gas and projectiles. But for a buck that's a considerable amount of fun. UMAREX makes good products and for training they offer many different models of a like operation. Single action copies, military replicas, modern copies, there is a lot to choose from. While not cheap, they seem to be a good value. It would make a good gift for a new shooter or an exceptional indoor trainer before going outside with a .22.
