Just talked to a fellow named Cheyanne Courtney
from Oklahoma, who stopped by, and I hope I spelled that right. I always enjoy talking to folks from out of state. Quite often they stop in the shop and are baffled that there are no rattlesnakes, cactus, lizards and 120 degree days in October here in Flagstaff. They never realized we are up at 7200 foot elevation here at the shop and we get 15 to 20 feet of snow a year. Snow, sand, 20 degrees and the desert don't go together well to most folks.
Everyone just thinks we’re all Desert
Arizona has the largest contiguous stand of Ponderosa pine forest in the world, stretching from near Flagstaff along the Mogollon Rim to the White Mountains region. Ponderosas are easily identified by the reddish-brown bark marked and long, mostly vertical black fissures.
