If one looks hard enough you might still find a deal on one of those for less than $1000! THEN you can conjure up someone to do some magic. Add a .45 Colt cylinder and what a useful versatile rig. (Still loosely based on the Remington) I guess one could argue it's sort of a Remington type solid frame with a Colt grip. LOL 120 yrs. of progress can't easily be hidden.
I'm trying to plan my first Kirst conversion on one of mine. Maybe .38 Special on a .36. I like the loading gate over removing the cylinder on the Colt.
It's still difficult to believe that Goerg shot Black Bear with a C&B Remington (much less CF .22 handguns). No one told him you couldn't do it. Ditto Fred Bear of the same era, poking stuff with his little bow and arrows.
