After shooting some ball loads I switched to a bullet. The .457" mold I have was my Dads. It's a 2 cavity mold and he reamed one cavity so it makes a heel bullet. This shows a lot of promise in the Dragoon.

The heel part is just small enough to fit the Dragoon chamber. You can start it by hand.

It’s a little slower type of fun. What type of lube are you sealing off the chambers. You look like a Crisco kind of fellow to me. Lol. I like that yellow linament smelling stuff. It all seems to work pretty good. I tried some treated felt wads under bullet but it makes me feel a little unsettled. Looks like I forgot a step!

My Colts and Remingtons all shot higher than POA.

works well. Keeps the bore clean. Not real messy. I plan on making some Crisco and Beeswax before too long. Probably will start rolling cartridges this winter.

I keep it in the fridge, and haven’t had any problems with it melting, or getting blown out like Crisco. I usually go early mornings in the summer, but i was surprised that it wasn’t melting.

to blow the oil out of the nipples, and load it up. It was my only handgun (1858 .44 Remington clone) but was a dream for a young boy. In the summer the sealing Crisco would melt and make a bit of a mess. I got good at loading so it was reliable. Make sure the caps were fully seated etc. I loaded all six and used the between safety notches on the Remington. Perfectly safe. The Colt had these little tits on the back of the cylinder, not as substantial.

I think Butler Creek came out with these little plastic discs to go under the balls, seal things, self lubricate. I used a few. Then "Wonder Wads" treated felt, seemed better to me. Might get blasted out and start a fire in the woods!
