Never ate an iguana...

although we shot a good number of them over the years. The ground dwelling tigu on the other hand was much better eating than the macaws I got on the same trip. The iguanas can reach impressive sizes for a "mere lizard". The largest we got was around 5 foot long, 3 to 4 foot were ore common. The one in the pictures is close to 4 foot, but the male my wife saw the other day is a bit longer and much heavier. Since we aren't raising chickens or fruit trees and aren't starving, I'll leave them alone. If society here ends up like the republic to the east of us, well... I've got a pellet rifle or two that'd make short work of them.
